Commercial jobs are complex; fires make them even harder
Commercial jobs are complex. Fires have lots of issues. Fires in the kitchen of a commercial kitchen can really make things complex. Without the knowledge and experience in handling these events and your business may be closed for weeks or months, or even longer! Communication is key to getting these jobs done fast.
Keeping the business manager, chief chef, building inspector and health department inspectors informed is vital. There are so many moving parts that without solid communication, important issues can be overlooked and forgotten. Simple mistakes like that can cause big delays that can do more than ruin your day! We ensure that we keep key decision makers informed of what we are doing and when. We do this at the start of each day as summarize how the day went when the day is done. No surprises!!
Weather really helped us out on this job. We were able to bring all the kitchen equipment that needed to be cleaned out to their circular driveway and we were able to have an entire second crew cleaning, inspecting, and fixing all equipment separate from the kitchen work being done. Also, by not having to transport everything to our warehouse, we easily saved at least another day!
Starting a commercial fire cleanup on Sunday morning and being able to hand control of the kitchen back to the head chef on Wednesday morning so he could still have an important wedding on Friday was challenging but very rewarding. The bride never knew there was a problem!!
