Tornado hits Fairdale, IL

An EF-4 tornado touched down in Illinois and rolled across the countryside for 45+ miles. Fairdale was the most populous place it hit and destroyed many homes to the point that it looked like they were never there. This home had part of it tore out as can be seen in the before photo with one of the walls that was missing after the tornado. The family called in SERVPRO of Dekalb County for our Storm restoration services so we could help save and restore as many of their personal items as we could. We set to it and were able to restore and return many of their personal items from kids drawings to photos to the china set seen here in the after photo that they had gotten when they got married. Often personal items get destroyed in tragedies so even though their home was gone they were glad to get the personal items back as did some of their neighbors who had some of their items fly out of their house and were found within this house. We were very happy to give these people in Fairdale back a small piece of their life before the day of the tornado that flipped their life upside down.
