100 year flood affects a small business
In early August of 2017 the small town Rochelle Experienced what they are calling the 100 year flood in the area. The local National Bank owns a strip center and received a frantic, panicked call from the owner of a small tobacco shop in the early morning hours. Ken the owner had gone to open his shop for normal Saturday hours and found the basement to be flooded with what looked to him to be several inches of water. It turned out to be about 6 inches total. He was of course overwhelmed with what he thought was a total loss of his inventory. He contacted the bank president and he in turn contacted SERVPRO of DeKalb County. SERVPROs crew responded quickly and went to work extracting the water and drying out the area. When it was all said and done both the store owner and the landlord were thrilled at the speed in which SERVPRO responded and the efficiency in which they worked. They had him back up and running in 2 days and for that everyone was very grateful.
